			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A recent study by The National Eye Institute has determined there is a dramatic increase in cases of myopia or nearsightedness. With more than 40% of the population affected, myopia has grown to epidemic proportions.</p>
<p>While the study does not directly identify specific causes, experts seem to agree that more time spent indoors, without natural light, and an increase in &#8220;near work&#8221; texting, video games, computer work, all play a role.</p>
<p>While there is no cure, experts recommend annual eye exams to maintain your eye health is critical.</p>
