If you need to get lenses to correct your vision, the doctor may offer you (and your mom or dad) a choice of contacts or glasses. You should think about the maintenance you’ll have to do for each before choosing an option.

If you get glasses, you’ll want to find cool frames that are both comfortable and sturdy. Be sure to pick a style you really like since you’ll be wearing them a lot. The lenses can be made of different materials like plastic (polycarbonate) or safety glass.

Glass is a bit heavier and could shatter if you’re not careful. On the other hand, plastic scratches easily, but it can often be the best choice for kids. If you play sports, you’ll want to ask the doctor what kind of eyewear you can use on the field.

You’ll need to clean your glasses regularly. And, be sure to get a case for them and put them in it when you’re not wearing them. This will help you avoid crunching them by stepping or sitting on them.

If you prefer contact lenses, ask you eye doctor for tips about which kind will be best for you. Some contacts are disposable and others need to be cleaned with saline solution. When you learn which type you’re going to get, you can start becoming an expert in how to wear them safely and keeping them clean.

No matter which you get – glasses or contacts – the best part will be how much better you can see!

Although there are many advantages that daily disposables can provide, the best opportunity is for patients who only want to wear contacts on a part time basis:

Weekend-Warriors for golf, tennis, softball, etc.

Seasonal allergy sufferers

Special Events – weddings, proms, social events/dinners

Vacations- No need for solutions and cases

International Travelers- don’t know about the water abroad?

Athletics for small children not ready for full time wear yet

The list goes on and on, depending on how creative you want to be. It is the ultimate in flexible wear schedules and convenience.

Daily disposable lenses are comfortable, extremely healthy, and at less than a dollar a day, they are also very economical.

There has never been a better opportunity to try contacts, even if only on a part time basis or for a specific event.
