Myopia affects America 2

A recent study by The National Eye Institute has determined there is a dramatic increase in cases of myopia or nearsightedness. With more than 40% of the population affected, myopia has grown to epidemic proportions.

While the study does not directly identify specific causes, experts seem to agree that more time spent indoors, without natural light, and an increase in “near work” texting, video games, computer work, all play a role.

While there is no cure, experts recommend annual eye exams to maintain your eye health is critical.
