Project 3/50
I came across this site the other day and I really liked its philosophy.
What if everyone did this? Would the local economy get a huge boost? Or is it just an idealist philosophy.
To follow through with the 3/50 project – I would have to narrow down three independently owned businesses that I really couldn’t live without.
Top three local businesses I’d miss:
Gelato DaVinci in the Clay Terrace Mall, a family-owned business with great coffee and the BEST gelato in the city.
L. Severson Photography, a great artist in town. She really knows her craft and takes a lot of pride building up her community.
Mama Corolla’s in Broad Ripple… the BEST Italian food in the city!!!
If I could pick one more … I’d pick AMB Landscaping. He takes meticulous care of the lawns in our neighborhood. He named his family business after his daughter Alissa Marie Bandejas and moved here from NJ just to better himself and his family. Works EXTREMELY hard to make sure his clients are all ‘raving fans’.
What are your three places?

Yes, absolutely. Supporting local business is so very important. Big chains can certainly save you money, but where is the personal attention? I choose:
1. Silver In The City (Downtown Indy) http://shopsilverinthecity.com/
2. Luna Music (Broadripple + Downtown Indy) http://www.lunamusic.net/
3 Yats! http://www.yatscajuncreole.com/
